This holiday season, don’t just enjoy Schnebly Winery’s delicious wines. Mix them with holiday drinks to make your holiday celebrations even more exciting! From mulled wine to Holiday punch, you can find some of our best recipes for holiday wine drinks right here on the blog. We also have a list of all the exotic fruit wines that are available in stores right now, or if you want to visit us at home base then come on out!
Here are 3 fun ideas for Holiday drinks made with our wines:
Mulled wine is the perfect Holiday drink! Mulled wine is made by warming the wine and adding holiday spices like cinnamon, cloves, etc. while it’s simmering on low heat to bring out even more flavors!
This type of wine is popular in Europe, but really works well with Schnebly Winery wines because of the holiday spices and the exotic fruit flavors in Schnebly’s wines.
- a bottle of your favorite holiday red wine (you can use Cat 2 and Cat 3 Hurricane if you want Schnebly Winery wines!)
- apple cider or orange juice (or a mix of both)
- honey, sugar, or brown sugar to taste
- allspice berries, cinnamon sticks, star anise pods
In a small pot on low heat, simmer the wine with the spices until it’s warm. Add apple cider or orange juice until you reach your desired consistency (I like mine a little thicker). If it’s too sweet, add more wine! Serve and enjoy!
You can even use a slow cooker to make this slowly, just simmer all ingredients and enjoy!
Plus, the smell that will cover your home is truly a Holiday dream.
Holiday Wine Punch
You can make this wine punch in a large batch for all your guests to any Holiday party! Or you can make individual servings in mason jars with lids.
Is there anything more festive than punch? It just screams Holiday party! This recipe is easy to make and customize to your liking.
- bottle of white or red wine (this recipe is amazing with all Schnebly Winery wines, and all of them will give it such a different flavor! Try it more than once!)
- cranberry juice cocktail or grapefruit juice (or a mix of both)
- pineapple juice
- orange juice
- apple cider
- Ginger ale
- Vanilla extract
Mix all ingredients together in a punch bowl or pitcher, and stir well. Add ice cubes just before serving, and top with ginger ale (or club soda). You can also add some fruit like oranges, apples, or pineapples to the punch for even more flavor!
If you’re making this for a large party, you can double or triple the recipe. Punch is always a hit at parties and it’s so easy to make!
Wine Apple Cider
This drink is perfect for those who want something a little more festive than apple cider, but don’t want something too sweet either. It has a nice spiced flavor that will warm you right up on a cold night, easy to make drink for fall and winter!
- Apple Cider
- Cinnamon Whiskey, Such as Fireball
- Maple Syrup
- Vanilla Extract
- Cinnamon Sticks
- Honeycrisp Apple, Thinly Sliced
- Orange, Sliced
Your favorite Schnebly Winery wine. Make sure to use a wine that you enjoy drinking plain, because the flavor will be pronounced even with the cider!
In a large pot, bring apple cider to a simmer. Add sliced apples and oranges into the mixture. Add in spices such as cinnamon sticks, vanilla extract, maple syrup, honeycrisp slices with seeds removed (and peeled if you prefer).
Let this all simmer together for 15-20 minutes, or until apples are soft. Add whiskey to taste (add about ½ cup per person) and then the wine, and enjoy!
This holiday drink is so easy to make, will warm you right up on a cold night, and tastes delicious with the wine flavors mixed together. It’s perfect for any holiday party!
